Spooky Reading Challenges I'm Participating In This Year

New year, new possibilities and all that. With that, I'm planning to participate in some spooky reading challenges to broaden my horizon a bit, and because some of them looked rather fun. Fortunately, I could use quite a few books already in my TBR piles for the various challenges, and there's only a few categories I miss books for, but I'll get my hands on books for those missing ones.

Anyway, here's the challenges I want to participate in this year.

When I saw the name of this challenge over on Storygraph, I knew I had to join, as I always love highlighting and reading diverse books.

This one is from one of my favourite Facebook group on horror books. It had lots of varieties when it came to the various categories/prompts, but that made it a lot more fun.

This reading challenge on Storygraph mainly focuses on genres, but it had a few other categories as well, such as author of colour, translated, and LGBT, so I can't complain really.

This challenge, yet another one on Storygraph, is subgenre only, and it enables me to dive into a bunch of different genres, some that I rarely read or wish I had read more of, so now I have an excuse to pick them up.

I just came across this challenge, and as it combines genres and diverse reads, I just couldn't resist. I'm a bit like a moth to the flame when it comes to diverse reads really, but considering how the world is at the moment, I think it's more important than ever to read books by minorities and marginalised people.

As the various prompts/categories looked like a lot of fun, I couldn't resist joining the I Read Horror Year-Round Challenge.

As I've followed Loc’D Booktician on YouTube for a while, I couldn't resist this reading challenge as it mainly focus on Black and Indigenous authors.

Are you participating in any reading challenges this year? What's your thoughts on those that I'm participating in? Feel free to let me know in the comments.
