April Hopefuls

It's April and basically proper spring at the moment, and as it's a new month, it's time for a blog post about the books I hope to read in the coming weeks. As it's spring, I want to read some folk horror and botanical horror, but I'm also participating in the Spring Into Horror Readathon, which will be lots of fun (and an excuse to read horror and paranormal books of course).

Here's some of the spooky stuff I hope to read this month.

The Wendigo by Algernon Blackwood
As I haven't read that many stories about wendigos, I wanted to read this one. Not quite sure what to expect with it though.

Lovecraft Country by Matt Ruff
As it sounded like an intriguing read, I wanted to read Lovevcraft Country sooner or later, so hopefully I'll manage to read it this month.

A Botanical Daughter by Noah Medlock
A combination of Frankenstein and a botanical theme set in the Victorian era? Count me in, please as I loved Frankenstein.

Slewfoot by Brom
I feel like I've seen Slewfoot "everywhere", and even though I'm sometimes a bit wary of hyped books, it sounded interesting enough that I wanted to read it.

Frankenstein in Baghdad by Ahmed Saadawi
As I recently read and enjoyed Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, I wanted to read this Iraqi re-telling of it.
