June Hopefuls

It's June, which means it's also time for a new monthly blog post about the books I hope to read this month. As we're inching towards summer, some of the books has a summer-vibe to them, even if they're horror/paranormal. Also, as it's Pride Month, I couldn't resist adding a couple of LGBT+ books in my hopefuls pile.

Hungerstone by Kat Dunn
A re-telling of Carmilla, but set in the Peak District (UK). I've heard mixed reviews for this one, but I'll give it a try.

Maplecroft by Cherie Priest
Lizzie Borden meets cosmic horror? Count me in.

A Botanical Daughter by Noah Medlock
I've hear people say this has a bit of a Mexican Gothic meets Frankenstein vibes, so I'm a bit intigued.

My Heart Is a Chainsaw by Stephen Graham Jones
As I love a slasher, and books about horror geeks, I suspect I'm in for a treat with this one.

Don't Fear the Reaper by Stephen Graham Jones
It's the sequel to My Heart Is a Chainsaw, so I could as well give it a go if I end up reading the the first one this month.

The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones
The third book by this author I want to read this month, but I've heard a lot about this particular book, so I wanted to read it sooner rather than later.

House of Bone and Rain by Gabino Iglesias
The Puerto Rico setting had me with this one, as I haven't read that many books with that setting, and as it's summer, why not?

Honeysuckle and Bone by Trisha Tobias
My edition of this book has a really beautiful cover, and although it's YA, I'm giving it a go, as it's set in Jamaica.
